https://vimeo.com/181874494Last week, StandardVision launched its very first artist takeover on our SVLA1 screen on the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Downtown, Los Angeles. The program invites one photographer or artist each week to take over a week-long recurring 15-second spot to showcase their work to the public. Our first artist to launch this series is Los Angeles based photographer, TJ Tambellini. Tambellini's work highlights the quintessential Southern California landscape while also abstracting certain elements and reducing them to an exercise in pure form and color. His latest series, Court Yard, explores vintage West Hollywood apartments, finding beauty in hidden crevices and banal details, giving them life through eye-catching composition and use of color.TJ writes about his series: “While it is common practice in Los Angeles to add lore to landmarks and locations that might otherwise seem banal and load them distinction – that person lived there, this was filmed here, who died where – with this it’s not. Court Yard is not a straight documentation of these central courtyards, but rather an abstract observation of the property details and seemingly causal relationships between organic and inorganic."You can see more of Tambellini's work here and follow him on Instagram @thisisnow_here.tambellini_3tambellini_4tambellini_7 tambellini_10
